Embracing Life Transition Denver Counselor
Major changes in our lives can come from outside or from within. But regardless of the source, we can find ourselves overwhelmed with strong feelings and a disrupted emotional state. A major life change, such as divorce, job loss, corporate reorganization, or even illness, can cause us to question our assumptions. We can become angry or grief-struck --anxious and depressed. We can feel paralyzed and helpless, especially when the change is out of our control.
It’s very difficult to navigate change in one’s life. Whether it’s starting over in mid-life after a divorce, or changing careers, or suddenly waking up one day and wondering, “is this the life I want to be living?” -- there comes a time when we need to assess our priorities, redefine our sense of purpose and identity, and forge new approaches. No matter how painful the transition, there is great opportunity in seeking a new vision.
